Our Fix It, Don’t Ditch It Repair Cafe Events Take Place Every Fourth Sunday of the Month
2pm - 5pm
Do you have damaged clothes or faulty small electrical items that need fixing? Bring them along to our repair events, and we’ll help you get them back in action—free of charge. Forget about expensive repair bills or replacing items that still have plenty of life left in them. Let us help you extend their lifespan—at no cost to you!
What Can You Bring?
You can bring clothing and small electrical items in need of repair.
Items repaired at previous events have included hair clippers, a pair of jeans, a toaster, a hand-held vacuum, gloves, a hat, a bag, a jacket, a jumper, a waistcoat, and a backpack. And every owner has expressed gratitude for our help!
One other thing our happy owners have been glad about is that they can get a slice of cake with a hot beverage at the same time, creating a lovely community feeling in more ways than one.
These events take place every fourth Sunday of the month. Mark the date in your diary and let our team help you restore them to good use. Just drop in on the day and we’ll take care of the rest!
So come along. Not only will you save money by avoiding costly repairs or replacements, you’ll receive a friendly welcome and will also be doing your bit for the planet. 🌍💚🌳

Help Us Keep the Repair Café Running – Volunteers Needed!
Our repair café is growing faster than we ever imagined, and we need more volunteers to keep up with demand. Can you lend a hand?
Welcomers – To greet visitors, find out what they need fixed, explain how the event works, make coffee and hand out cake.
Electricals Experts – If you have experience fixing small appliances, we need you! You’ll be part of a team supported by a retired electrical engineer.
Clothing Menders – Help people mend their own clothes by teaching basic repair skills. No dressmaking or alterations, just simple fixes. A short training session is provided if needed.
If you’d like to make a difference and be part of this rewarding community project, get in touch at info@fitzroviacommunitycentre.org.
Not Sure But Curious?
We understand, it can feel uncertain when you are stepping out into volunteering for the first time or into a new environment. But if you are curious, reach out to us to hear more or simply come along on the day and see for yourself first hand what goes on. You will be in great company!
Thank you. Together, we’re building a stronger, more sustainable community. 💙💜
